If you are looking for a great laidback weekend getaway or just a break from Seoul, you should definitely consider visiting Jeonju. The area is famous for its food, booze, and cultural settings. Jeonju is known as The Best taste city in Korea and is worth a visit for bibimbab. Jeonju is a modern small town, it is still a traditional one built on a rich history, so it’s worth checking out the more historical sites around town.

When you get there
First, your guide will pick you up at your hotel at 7:00am. From Seoul to Jeonju. It takes 3 hours by car. When you get to Jeonju, you will see Jeonju Hanok Village. The Jeonju Hanok Village has over 700 traditional hanoks to snap photos of and check out. While the rest of city has been industrialized, Hanok Village retains its historical charms and traditions. Jeonju Hanok Village is especially beautiful for its unique roof edges, which are slightly raised to the sky. Another trait of Hanok is that all the houses are heated with ondol, a unique sub-floor heating system. Since Koreans enjoy sitting, eating, and sleeping on the floor, it needs to remain heated.
 
Then, you will go to Omokdae which is one of the places where King Taejo stopped to celebrate his victory on his way home from a war with Japanese invaders at Hwangsan Mt. across from Omokdae is Imokdae, which is located near the foot of Seungamsan Mountain where Chimyeongjasan, a holy Catholic monument is placed.
You will have bibimbab for lunch. Jeonju is famous for bibimbab. You will find original taste of bibimbab. Then, you go to Jeondong Catholic Church, which is one of the main tourist attractions in Jeonju. Wear Hanbok and take photos with your group here. This is best place to take a photo. Soak up in the harmonious atmosphere together with the warmth of the sunshine.
 
Gyeonggijeon Shrine features history exhibits and museum with royal portraits. Gyeonggi Jeon displays memorial portraits and ancestor tablets of the Yi family, the rulers of the Joseon Dynasty. Memorialized rulers include the dynasty's founder King Taejo, Sejong, Yeongjo, and many others. If you enjoy one traditional market which is over 200 years old in Jeonju, you have to visit Nambu traditional market. In Jeonju, there is a saying “no marriage unless visiting Nambu Market.” The market sells almost everything used in our everyday life, including food, furniture, clothing, and the like. Nambu Market offers abundant local delicacies, such as blood sausage hot-pot, bean sprouts hot-pot, moju (sweet rice wine). Here you can try some street food like pan fried mung-bean cake(Nokdu Jeon), grilled pig intestine and skin, torched beef sushi and Pan-fried bacon-vegetable roll. After tasting some street food, you will leave for Seoul. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel in Seoul.
